Northeast Arc: Changing Lives Fund
Steven P. Rosenthal created the Northeast Arc’s Changing Lives Fund as a mechanism to challenge the traditional means by which support is delivered to individuals with disabilities and their families. The Changing Lives Fund serves as an incubator of innovative and positive disruptive ideas, specifically through the creation of the ArcTank, an international competition established in 2017, to identify and fund innovative ideas to benefit individuals with intellectual and other disabilities.
The Northeast Arc supports more than 10,000 individuals in Massachusetts in becoming contributing members of their communities. Programs facilitated by the Northeast Arc support both children and adults. When an opportunity to support Northeast Arc presented itself to Rosenthal, the philanthropist was eager to invest.
In an effort to continue Northeast Arc’s ground-breaking work, Rosenthal developed the Changing Lives Fund through his generous donation of $1 million. The philanthropist has since donated a second $1 million and has publicly stated that his contribution intends to assist the Northeast Arc in expanding its services in creative and innovative ways. Rosenthal has long admired the incredible efforts of the Northeast Arc, which facilitates lifelong support for individuals with disabilities.
